All About Frontier Wholesale Co-op
One of my favorite resources for clean and natural products is Frontier wholesale co-op. They are a company out of Iowa that began in 1970 selling herbs and spices locally. They now produce, supply, and stock many brands of natural, organic, sustainable, and fair trade products. From bulk herbs to supplements, toiletries to cleaning supplies, essential oils to kitchen tools and everything in between you are sure to find many products you want and need. Years ago I joined a Frontier co-op local to me at a recommendation of a friend. I needed a clean and safe laundry detergent for my new baby’s cloth diapers that would actually get them clean. She had very sensitive skin and many products would make her break out. I quickly found that (ECOS and Biokleen for anyone interested!) and many other products I’ve fallen in love with.
When we moved a couple of years ago there wasn’t a Frontier co-op convenient to our new home, so I decided to start one up myself! So far it has been a wonderful experience.
I have a Facebook group that people local to me can join. They send me their email and then I send them an invitation to create an account through the Frontier co-op wholesale website. Once they create an account they have access to all of the amazing products and wholesale pricing.
At this time I place one order per month. Your group total has to reach $250 total to get free shipping, And their shipping is typically very quick! We usually have our order in less than a week. As our little group grows I’m hoping to add one more order each month.
When the order comes in I sort everyone’s individual orders. My six-year-old likes to help with the sorting, which we tend to use as a homeschool lesson in reading, sorting, and counting as well as learning about clean and safe products. After we get the order sorted I let everyone know and they can then come pick up their order at their convenience. The orders come in large cardboard boxes with biodegradable packing peanuts. They are always working on more sustainable and earth-friendly packaging and practices. Just another reason I love this company! And if you ever need to contact them their customer service is wonderful!
If you aren’t already a member of your local Frontier wholesale co-op ask around and see if there is one near you! If there isn’t you should totally consider starting one yourself, especially if there is a well established naturally-minded community around you. It’s pretty easy and a great company to be a part of. Go to their website at www.wholesale.frontiercoop.com to find out more!
